How do the front U-joints look?

Also, do NOT use 4 wheel drive on a high traction surface. You WILL break things.

it moves a bit as in video posted, but not a lot, does not slide in or out just rotates a bit, This is not jacked up either, should i jack the wheel up to check better. I do see a lot of grease not sure if its the ball joint. driver seems tight i changed ball joints and hub and the cv seemed good when i pulled it out.

would i not hear the clunking when turning in 2 wheel drive as well as 4 wheel? would the joint explain the seizing when turning right as this is the passenger side wheel?

I was also thinking it not fully actuating when engaging the 4 wheel from the actuator?

That U-joint looks like it's shot. I'd also check for play in the wheel bearing, too.

Is there a reason why it sounds and feels nasty in 4x4 and there's nothing really noticeable in 2 wheel drive ?

They are moving, but, not under load. So, no noise in 2wd.

Thanks for the help, just before I tackle this, is there a way to co firm for sure, like if I jack up the tire and crank wheel to see if it's causing it to bind and knock, or load from the 4x4 while driving something I can't mimic while the tire is jacked up?

I did the hub and joints on the other side and what a nightmare for the lower and joint and the hub.

You showed us play in the U-joint in the video, so it's confirmed that there is an issue that needs maintenance. Yes, it's time consuming and labor-intensive to accomplish, but the truck is over 20+ years old. Replace the hub and joints on that side to address you issue and add many more trouble-free miles to your truck.

And judging by the picture on the post #12, your axle shaft seal is also leaking. They are fun to do, you'll have to pull the both shafts and carrier out to replace the drivers side seal.
edit/ looks to be the passenger side, so it's little easier to do. But still, pita to install even with approriate tool.

And, ensure that you fix that gear oil leak (or periodically ensure that you check & keep the gear oil level in the front axle at an acceptable level) with the front axle before you end up with some costly front axle repairs.
