Shaft looked ok, and there was oil there, I think you mean where the axel slides into the other shaft, the spot where that vacuum line slides over to engage the 4x4. I'm gonna take it apart one more time and take some photos of the axel and that.
anything else that could make that clunk clunk clunk noise in 4x4 ?

The driveshaft to the front axle itself....... if the joints in the CV joint are stiff..... you'll get some odd behavior from that.

Here is a clip or i guess photos iit wont take my phone video file of my axel it seems ok to me but I'm not an expert, I tied sliding the disc manually over to put it in 4x4 it seems to slide. Would have a photo or something of the spot you're talking about for the driveshaft and cv joint. .

I took a photo of the ball joints and one has a slightly longer bolt, the rest look the same and put another ball joint in and if keep tightening thw lower ball joint nut i pushes the top ball joint out, can figure that one out.

The CV joint is on the end of the driveshaft at the t-case. Otherwise known as a double-cardan joint.

Yeah, you've got wrong upper ball joints.

oem part numbers k3134t for th upper BJ
im sure that when i did the other side last year it was similiar in that the ball joint looked a little different on the length of the bolt all else seemed the same.

When you say roller bearing, are refering to the wheel bearing (hub)? I put a new hub on.

Roller bearing sits inside the axle housing, next to a CAD-opening towards the differential. Intermediate shaft rides on it.

May also be a bushing.... and there's another one on the nub that sticks out of the short section of the axle, into the long section as well.

True. I've replaced all of them; bearing, intermediate shaft and bushing on the outer shaft. Before that I replaced bearing with a bushing because bearing had gone fubar and eaten the shaft. I turned shaft to the smallest possible OD, then made bushing from brass or what ever I found. Too soft anyway, so the lifespan was just a few years.

To the OP, roller bearing and bushing are easy to check for wear. Pull the CAD and slide the collar all the way towards right. Then with a screwdriver try to pry shafts upward.
