So it's the male threads visible that are boogered? It appears that way but the photo is not exactly high resolution. I'd run a die over them even though it looks like they're done for. I have no idea what thread pitch would be -- I just figure that out w calipers and thread pitch gauges.
But the brass fitting should unthread, unless the hex is just there to allow you to hold it when tightening?
On many radiators (eg '06-10 Exploders) the cooler line discos are notorious and you often just have to unthread the whole fitting from the radiator -- it's simply easier and safer.

I definitely think it would be easier and safer if that fitting unthreaded but I’m certain it doesn’t.
