Ok, that's gonna require some finagling. Try and get 'em in the morning.

I appreciate it, thanks again! Worst case I'll see if I can find another 1500 around town or in a yard and go measure. I haven't had any second gens around my shop in awhile.

If you are gonna want to wrap around the frame, and use more than just the two bolts on the front crossmember, I am thinking something to 'test fit' them to before you are miles away from your tools, and find they don't quite fit.

Looking at the attached I think I just need to make a flat plate with the attachment point to mount to the cross member and a perpendicular leg to catch the frame (with a notch to clear the bracket), nothing too fancy. Assuming you can get me approximate measurements for the holes and notch I'll just slot the holes and bring fender washers/a drill in case anything needs adjustment

The factory style tow hooks used those added brackets to ensure that those tow hooks are securely affixed to the truck's frame so that they won't come loose with heavy pulling. Seems that they were also trying to minimize the possibility of a lawsuit...

Ok, I thought they were more complicated than that.

If able, would also be useful to know approx bolt length/diameter requirements for the cross member and frame.

Ok, went a'lookin again this morning. On my frame, the holes for the brackets/hooks are NOT there...... Mine is a 2500 though, so, I don't know if that matters....... I don't know when these became available on the 2nd gens.... The only ones I know for sure that had them, were the 00-01 Off-Road Edition trucks.... and I think they got some other modifications to the frame as well..... Are they unique to the ORE trucks???? I just don't know.

I added the tow hooks onto my truck via Mopar kit #82204881 several years ago when the hooks were still available from Mopar parts vendors. Please see the brackets in the photos of the eBay link I provided earlier. The tow hooks bolt to the brackets. The brackets bolt to the truck's frame. This is why you don't see any holes for just the tow hooks in the truck's frame. The tow hooks can be added to any 2nd gen Ram truck using Mopar kit #82204881. As an FYI, when I see used factory tow hooks for 2nd gen trucks for sale, I typically see them with the brackets and hardware as in the eBay auction noted earlier.

Still have the truck? Can you get pics and measurements? It is REALLY difficult for me to get under my truck.....
