If you already have it together with nuts and bolts, I'd just leave it. The kits are 20 bucks or better, for a few dollars worth of nuts and bolts.

I really hate the setup. Just have a welder do the nut if you must have the tab. The bolt need not be anything special, although stainless might be nice for the future (will also be much more expensive than Gr5 or Gr8 ferrous)

They are metric so they are not a "grade 5, 8" etc, Metric uses "classes" which are similar but go by #'s 4.6, 4.8, 5.8, 8.8, 9.8, 10.9 and 12.9. If you look at the head of the bolt it says 10.9. Would anybody know the size of these? Mine are wore so bad the shock has slop between it and the bolt. I should have checked it when I had them out last.

You usually can't cheat 1/2" in place of 12mm, but you can most likely be fine with 3/8" for 10mm and definitely can swap 9/16" for 14mm.

You could certainly use 7/16" in place of 12mm but risk clunking as the shock sleeve slops on the bolt.

At the end of the day a fastener that fits with minimal slop is all you need, doesn't matter how we call it.

Also I've found Dorman's own site to work quite well when researching -- certainly better than most of their products work, but that's a low bar.

13818 no longer comes up, so I'd abandon all hope unless you find a vendor with NOS

They're called Flag Nuts, many different types, one that would fit/work. I searched Google just pick your flavor.

Ok did some digging, Bolt # is 6502 818 it is a M14x2.00x80.00 Just look up a flange bolt and readily available. The nuts # 6502 817 I found here. Also found something similar with the same thread here. And yes I did a Google search for flag(or tab) nuts 14x2 and next to nothing comes up. McMasterCarr doesn't have them. If you don't want to pay the price just get regular flange nuts and make the tab out of flat stock, Drill a hole about the size of the nut(outer hex). Beat (or press) it on then weld it. Lastly as mentioned a 14mm bolt diameter is 0.5512 in inches. A 9/16 bolt diameter is 0.5625 so a 9/16 is a slight bit bigger but probably would work. May want to try one out first to be sure. And if you live in the rust belt put never seize on the threads!
