Backstory: Truck has 314,000 miles, engine was replaced at 250,000. I’ve been working on my truck for two days now, it’s 2wd and my truck was not getting traction so my smart self decided to put more power in to see if it’ll catch and blew my transmission line to the radiator. Reconnected the line and put fluid in as I didn’t have problems shifting gears, truck begins backfiring and dying. Drive with that happening to get to safe spot off the side of the road. Realize once truck is home that ignition tune up was never done on the new engine. Replaced spark plugs, wires, rotor and cap. Truck cranks and fires but dies immediately after. Have no idea what to do next whether it’s the timing or something electrical shorted out from the transmission fluid.
If you hook up an OBD2 scanner to your OBD2 port under the dash, do you get any stored or pending codes?
I ran a code reader before changing everything over and had exhaust leak, manufacturer control, and o2 sensor codes. Cleared them to see if it would start after the tune up.
2001 should be capable of the key trick, turn the key on/off/on/off/on/off/on the odometer should flash p codes
Yes it did, P0037 and my reader also has a P0601 Internal Control Module Memory check sum error, which also showed up on my first read as well I forgot to mention
