Default Cam replacement

2001 ram 1500 5.9v8 200k

so after doing a pan gasket replacement I noticed what appears to be scaring on my cam shaft.

assuming that I need to do replacement. I would like some recommendations for upgrading
Budget is a factor but I know something’s are just better to spend more on then others

thanks

There are several companies out there that perform camshaft repairs/regrinds. Do a Google search for 'camshaft regrinder' for more information.

BTW, if you get a moment, please update the subject line of your post from 'can' to 'cam'...

I do feel that it’s making more of a tick than usual

But I definitely would like to try to get this done before issues make it worse

Maybe I'm not as easily concerned, but I'm having a hard time seeing anything of concern in your pictures

One of the main things that caused me concerned was the scarring on the camshaft lobe as shown on the right in the picture

I understand now, the reflection threw me off as just oil residue, there is some flaking on the peak of the lobe in question?
