Default Heater Confusion

Alright ever since I bought this truck, no matter how long it's running for i still only have mild-luck warm heat coming out, although my guage indicated its running at 200 degrees. I have flushed the coolant and replaced the radiator cap, but still no heat. My heater core doesn't leak. I checked my fuses and where the panel indicates the blower motor fuse would be, it says NA, so does that mean I just do not have a blower motor, and I don't have a heater? It's been cold as hell here lately, and my windows aren't defrosting before work. I was thinking of replacing the thermostat but I want to know if that would fi my heater, or do I not even have one??

not sure why the fuse panel says n/a but does the fan blow at different speeds when turned up? Sounds like you have done all you can do short of replacing the thermostat, and YES you do have one. Replace it, and get a 180 not the stock replacement.

You may want to try to flush the heater core itself also. There may be crap in it that is not letting you get good water flow thru it leaving you with the luke warm air.

No, it doesnt seem to change at all even if i crank my heater all the way up, it barely warms up the slightest bit.

Had this happen to me last week temporarily. No blower at all. Give your fuses a good push in all the way and check the connector at the blower because they can get loose sometimes.

ran into this on a car once, the blend air door was stuck open. This door lets outside air in when the heater isn't on full bore. With the door stuck open it was letting cold air in no matter what the heater control was telling it to do. just a thought

where are all of the blend air doors, and how many are there. i have a 98 1500ram, with luke warm air coming out. my dad and i checked the heating core is hot enough that you cant even touch it, and the blower motor works fine. it blows out enough air but it is only luke warm. my dad thinks there is a stuck blend door and we dont know where all of them are we only know of the one behind the glove compartment, and that one is for recirculation.
