hi,
go directly with dealer thermostat, and not aftermarket offshore products, unless you will enjoy erratic temp gage and leaking housing gasket, also there is an actual visible and weight difference between both parts, noticeably the spring is heavier.

Greasemonkey.

I get most of my stuff from Napa... however I think the t-stat that's in there now is an autozone one and i've had NO cooling problems related to the t-stat. (I think my rad has a leak)

lol, hey man, sorry to burst your bubble... but your mpg still = miles traveled/gallons used... so it doesnt matter if your tanks 100 gallons... your mpg calculation is the same.

the only thing you may need to adjust for is error in the odometer. tires & gearing affect the odometer readings, meaning if you have oversized tires, your odometer is not 100% of the distance traveled...

I have always done the afore-mentioned when the t-stat was changed, but when the temperature starts to rise, turn the heater on full blast. That will help circulate the coolant and bleed the air. I've never drilled a small "burp" hole.

incase anyone was ever wondering this is what an open t-stat looks like... i did a full function check of the napa one i bought today that hopefully i can get in tomorow... pretty interesting... i did this check about 30 times... made the tstat actuat using a boiling pot (not really boiling but simmerd around 200 degs) and then took it out to cool it down and let it open and close

sorry bout the picture quality...kind ahrd to hold that hot little thing and still get the camera to focus on it

You know Ryan There is something about this that sound so familiar. What was it! Oh yeah My gauge, still all over the place jumps up to 200 drops down almost to 130 then up. Takes a while to warm up the heater too. WTF cant figure it out. Guess I will have to yank the damn thing off again and drill it. Delt with it for awhile, its only 10 miles to work. But this past week it sucked as cold as it was. Used to warm up in about a mile now 4. So like you probably got air in there. Opens fine, did the water test before I put it in.

By the way update the points please your a little behind, they lost again.
