Default sway bar disconnects

Just thought you "off roaders" out there might like to know, I found sway bar disconnects at Rough Country suspensions. I googled "sway bar disconnect dodge" and came across the installation instructions for the Rough Country 5" suspension system for '94-'01 Rams. Within the instructions is the directions for installing the sway bar disconnects that are supplied with the kit. I called Rough Country and they said they would sell me the disconnects by themselves for $45.00. I am going to order them tomorrow.

I wish they would advertise them by them selves, it would save some of us alot of trouble.

Hey guys, just looked again and noticed that the disconnects have an eye at both ends. The upper end of mine (Off Road pkg.) is a pin type connection. Is this unique to the O.R. pkg, or do all Rams have the pin type upper connection? If so, is the photo wrong, or am I just going to have to look elswhere for sway bar disconnects while the rest of you bennefit from my search?

I will continue my search, any info will be appreciated. Good luck to those of you who can use them.

It won't fit my truck correctly, the "pin connection" is a verticle one like the top of the front shocks, but the link has a horizontal "eye" connection like the bottom of the front shocks. I don't know if other Rams are different than mine with the off road pkg or not. I am going to call Rough Country right now and find out, I will post as soon as I get an answer.

Just called Rough Country. They have a "U" shaped adapter that converts to an "eye" connection at the sway bar end of the link. It is supposed to fit any Ram 4x4. I went ahead and ordered mine. It was $79.95 plus shipping ($9.00). It is supposed to be here in a week.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, but for somebody who off roads as much as I do (about twice a month, long all day adventures) it is worth it. Especially with as many rocky trails as there are out here in Az that require good articulation.

ha- twice a month isnt that much.

Yeah, but Sundays are my only days off, one with My Wife and Kids, one with just My Kids. My Wife isn't interested if it's not paved.

"Not that much" is a relative term.

honestly.. i wish i woulda chimed in earlier... i took off the sway bar b/c when i did the plenum fix i stood right between the rad and the motor,,, i actually forgot to put it back on and never realized it untill a few weeks later that it was off... not 1 difference in the handling and ride to be honest it actually softened the already rigif ride that the D44 gives to the truck... ALOT and i mean ALOT of the fellers over at PS.com have taken there bars off and never looked back and they offroad prolly more then anyone here

if that link system doesnt work out or ends up costing too much.. just unbolt it!
