i know this is a old thread, and we are beating a dead horse, lol. buti used to work at a dealership, we had gottenin a 4.6 truck ext cab short bed and a 5.4 the same style. i had to do inspections on them both, that means test driveing them. i wasnt impressed theyhad no get up and go. i had the other mech take the 5.4 out (because hes a ford guy, and said it would kill my ram) we ran them and i had a easy 4 cars on him in the 1/4 mile. (we used the set up that thestreet racers used.i also have killed at least 4/5 f150s on the street, i only have a hard time with the chevy truck. thats a close race.

Oh... so thats what they do at the dealerships for inspection.. race em? lol Wow, I can say that I do infact give my truck a run for its money sometimes, but its also out of my pocket if something breaks when I do it... If i ever found out my mechanic raced my truck when it was there for inspection, I would.... (can't really say something like that on here.) lol, lets say ring his neck for sure!
yeah i definitely dont race a customer's vehicle...
Now HOWEVER... if he is complaing of a drivability problem with a Viper SRT+10 or truck
or anything fast and loud... i do have the authority to drive to match customer's problem

not drive it after a TSB or inspection or whatever - Baddddd boys

no i was not the one driving the ford i was in my truck, and yes we do get into it a lil bit, i presonaly never tore into one like the guy in the lightning. and i would never do it in a customer car. i think the 4.6 went to the auction because it sat on the lot to long. the 5.4 was sold to some young kid. he parents bought it for him as a present.<< talk about getting beat on.

Yep, dodges are more powerful. But still, ford is the #1 selling vehicle, so I still Ford owns us on this one. Also, like I said before, power doesn't mean its necesarily bette. I'm sure the magnum has just as many faults as the triton, no questions. But I completely agree, the magnum is a lot more powerful. I can just literally feel it when I put my hands on the steering wheel. I just wish dodge put as much energy into their transmissins and interior as they do their ****ing engines lol!! Power and exterior looks are defiantly there though for dodges!

It's not that there bad, but in comparison to chevy and ford transmissions, they don't last nearly as long, and are much more prone to having issues, its just the way it is. Like I said, we own 3 dodges, and they all function, but you can tell they are getting older. We have a ford windstar with 175,000 miles on it, and they are hard miles, and the transmission is still like new. We only a lincoln and an f-150, and those trannies are also MINT even with 115,000 miles. My dodge has 103,000 miles and its fine, but it defiantly isnt like the fords.

i know rite!!
if yall damn mo'fo's would just change your tranny fluid once in a while i wouldn't have to hear all the bs outta customers complaining about how their tranny overheated and burnt up every clutch in there... "well when did you last change your transmission fluid sir?"
Never... i thought you aren't supposed to...

the fluid was completely black...
haha

Chevy/GMC has the worst trannys I would never own a GM again. I have blown 3 GM trannys and have only owned 2 trucks one only had 64k on it. Had 3 dodges and no tranny problems only front end parts.
