Default 95 dodge 1500

Hi guys i hope you can help me i've been three days on this truck. I bought it with a broken transmission housing because the front rear blew apart. the kid said it ran before he parked it for two years he's a good freind of mine so i dont doubt it but it had a rear main seal leak to so i pulled the motor and tranny and put head, valve cover and manifold gaskets in then rear main seal and oil pan gasket, then bolted rebuilt tranny to it and set it in there, now i've been threw the wiring harness to many times to count changed the coil and crank sensor but no spark and the fuel pump does not prime ive changed relays allso. another freind has a 98 dodge and i looked it over and its pretty different but when you turn the key on you hear the fuel pump prime and i tested the wire going to the coil one is hot full time(with the key on) and the other is hot only while the fuel pump primes and probly then pulses off the crank sensor i dont know. on my truck both wires are hot full time and you can hear the fuel pump RELAY click but no pump for the life of me i cant get this thing to spark and im about to parts it out on ebay but would prefer to get it going

Today i checked for power to the fuel pump and there is none. I also found two wires that come off the injector harness all alone (right behind the a/c pump) and broke but find nothing that they can go to EVERYTHING is plugged in however these two wires one is dead and the other has power only when the key is on... Oh how SH@#$y this feeling is not knowing what the hell is going on with this thing if i have to i can take a picture of these wires and post them if anyone has a 95 they could pop the hood on allso if i knew how many grounds there are would be helpfull im thinking its very possiable im missing just that. I find a ground on the allternator the big ground on battery to the power stearing pump a ground from the batt. to the body another tiny ground under that a tiny ground on the brake booster (just under the splitter box) and one from each head to the fire wall.

take a picture of those wires, its easier to understand what you are describing. If i can see them i can go look on my truck and tell you where they go.

I have a 1995 Field Service Manual and am willing to photocopy and send you the wiring schematic pages by mail, or look up wires by either their color code or tag number.

It is very common for 90's Rams to have the fuel pump die.

To get at the fuel pump it is usually easier to go to the 8 bolts that hold on the bed, remove 4 on the pump side and loosen the opposite 4 - then lift up the bed and prop it up like a 'lean too'

Here's a link to some pdf files of chapters from a 1997 Field Service Manual

http://tinyurl.com/z557p

The 'electrical' stuff might be helpful to you
but a 1997 has the OBD-II computer system
and your 1995 has the earlier OBD-I system.

that field service man. would be nice to, crazykyler@yahoo.com . Is your truck a 95? because i know that a 98 is totally diff.you can see the plastic harness that it goes in looks like it wants to go down around the front of the valve cover

The fuel pump relay is controlled by the pcm. For a 95 you'll have to do some research and find out which pin. Get someone to turn the key to the on position while you listen or feel for the relay to click. If it does then the pcm and wire coming from it are good. If i doesn't check the wire continuity with an ohmeter. If that is good it's your pcm. If the relay clicks check voltage in and out. If that's good check the continuity of the wires going to the pump. If that's good it's either your pressure switch or your fuel pump.

There was a guy who posted here about a fuel pump problem. Turned out that some kind of rodent had eaten the harness back by the pump.

If you can't find the pin #, try checking every wire at the pcm with the same color code.

i set my finger on the fuel pump relay and it does not click. assuming im talking what you are talking
But it roles over and that tells me that the pcm is running that but i dont know i would much rather work on an old dodge with points dis. although this is very challenging for the mind

Not to be too retarded here but can you just jump the solenoid on teh fuel pump to run the pump and check to see if the engine will run. this would narrow down your problems for you.
i know it is not a perm fix, but it s a start of where to look.

did you try running the fuel pump directly off the battery to see if it even worked anymore? it could be just a bad fuel pump.

i'm guessing it has more to do with those two wires. looks like someone hacked them open for something or removed something from the system. did you cut any wires while you were pulling the motor? you might have just pulled open someone's hack job to something else.
