Windshield question
When I use the wipers on the dew in the morning there is still this film of moisture in micro beads that makes it hard to see out of the the windshield. I bought new Anco blades but that doesn't take care of the problem. Does the windshield have some type of treatment on it that is part of the glass. I've never had a vehicle that's done this that I can remember. I wouldn't think the tension on the wiper arms would be shot since it's a 2000 model. Any opinions?
I would clean the window really well and use a rainx treatment on it. if it fogs up at all, rainx used to make an anti fog treatment that you could do to the inside of the window. Anco is one of the better blades if yo ask me, the only thing I can think of is that it needs a good cleaning & treatment.
screw the rainx
when i use rainx thats what happens, it leaves moisture behind and it beads up. thats why i dont use it now.
id love to use it again, because it works great on the highway, but until i figure out how to stop the leftover moisture, im out.

I'm w/ nmason... RainX is great when it rains, but if it's just a mist or dew, it doesn't let your wipers.... umm wipe. Anyway, I stopped using it about 2 mo ago, it's been getting better since.
You have to put on at least 3 good coats for the rainx to work good. And when it works, holy cow. It can be a monsoon and you don't even need your wipers because it works so good. When it starts wearing off it starts leaving the film behind, mines doing it right now and I'm to lazy to go get some rainx
It doesn't like the cold weather to much either.

Here's a pic of the glass stripper I used. It did a good job of cleaning the windsheild and thus allowing the wipers to do their job.

I'm not a big fan of rainx on the windshield. It works great on the side windows and rear window, but when it's raining lightly or misty it seems to streak more than it helps. On the highway in a heavy down pour it does do a great job. I just don't like it in light rain especially at night.

Use "3M Perfect-it III cleaner clay" with carwash soap and after it impresses you on the glass, try it on your paint. Directions are on the package. My other half drives the PA Turnpike for her commute and this stuff removes everything.
Unfortunately, it is $30 at NAPA, but taken care of, it lasts a long time (many vehicles). It is awesome to use before waxing or polishing or by itself.

I bought the pickup New Year's eve of 2005 and the wipers worked really well then. Maybe the dealership put a coat or two of RainX on it then and that's why I'm having my problem now. I'll clean the windshield and put some more RainX on as advised and see what the outcome is. Thanks to everyone.
