god ram it has no clue what he is talking about or he has never seen a 3/4 ton truck, dont get all uptight over it. anyone that has ever seen a 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton next to each other (or apart for that matter) can easily tell (without a tape measure) that there is a significant difference. YES approx 2-2.5". BOTH GAS TRUCKS. YES many of the kits use the same parts but what they dont tell you is that most of the lifts are rated at 1 weight capacity (1/2 ton or 3/4, I forgot which since it has been a long time since I researched it). Just like an OFF-ROAD 1500 version sits 2" higher even though it is still a 1/2 ton. I highly doubt that GRI has the ability to perform any mechanical repairs since he doenst have the mechanical knowledge. The nice part is, though, my 1/2 ton sport without the lift and tires was still higher than a GMC 2500 4X4. Gotta love Dodge, just not their choice in tranny suppliers, LOL.

Do you feel coo spelling Dude like DOOD?

You obviously didnt read any of the things I posted. those threads are talking about stock 2500 V8 coils The facts are out there.

If the 2500 springs and the 1500 springs are different then why would lifted coils have the same part number?

Im done kicking your *** in this debate.

All I was trying to do is spread some knowledge of something that I DO and know something about and dumb ****s like you that dont care about lifted trucks but seem to know it all come on here with an attitude.

Just read what I posted.

No need to comment back.
and dont worry you wont get an "i told you so" from me.

I posted the info for everyone.

thesprings are totally different, the 2500 also has a wider rear spring, even if it does have a different spring perch and blocks.

you are not comparing stock parts, you are comparing aftermarket. you can not compare the 2. Does apples and oranges ring a bell?

Dude comparing a 2500 to a 1500 isnt comparing apples to apples. the 2500 have a D60 axle! a much beefier axle.

the offroad coils are 2-3" taller springs because they are on the same axle as regular 1500. Very different

and your completely wrong about the capacities on the springs. The part numbers are identical. If you use a v10 coil it is a different part number same with the diesel spring another different part number.

And dont tell me that I have no mechanical knowledge. take a look at the truck that I built.
Have you installed your own shift kit? have you installed your own gears?
Have you rebuilt your axles hub to hub?
I did all of my own work on my truck I even fabbed bumpers, rock guards ect.

so go back to watching ricki lake

another good point. go back to the lift kit manufacturer, check out their tire charts of what will fit. on a stock 1500 it will take 2-3" of lift to fit the same tires that a 2500 stock will fit and so on up the ladder in size. once you get to 5-7" lift, they all run together and weight capacity seems to no longer be a concern. they do nt give the part #'s on this chart, they just tell you how much lift is needed to fit the tire size in question.
