Check Engine Light but no codes
I recently replaced the 318 computer in my truck with a 360 computer. I have been running a 180 thermostat the entire time with the 318 computer but was not getting the check engine light.
Any ideas whether the thermostat is causing this or where else I can look?
When I installed the computer the truck immediately started and is running great. I have new cat, new exhaust, new O2 sensors, fastman T-body, cleaned all sensors on the throttle body, checked all other sensors - they are working. Just don't know where else to go and I have checked for the codes several times.
The next step I guess is to put the 195 thermostat in, reset the computer, and take it out again and see if the light comes back on.

The reason for the 360 computer is that the engine is now a 360. The truck originally came with a 318 which I replaced.
I have been checking codes using the self diagnosis mode available on the 01 Ram. ( Push and hold the tripmeter button, turn ignition on, then off, then on, then off, then on. I am seeing the CHEK word show in the trip meter display. The system rolls through a number of tests and then displays the mileage but no codes). It should display codes if there were any.
I have seen in other threads that if the engine runs at too low of a temperature for too long it will throw the Check Engine Light. I also read somewhere that if the problem is resolved and does not return for three consecutive trips with the vehicle the Check engine light and code will be erased.
Just kinda lost here.

Gotcha. Besides the above mentioned comments, is the unit properly grounded? Are all of the ground wires securely fastened? That's the first thing that comes to my mind.
I'll double check that later tonight. I know I hooked up the ground wire to the bolt when I mounted it to the firewall. I'll even add another ground wire tonight to be double sure it is grounded.
