i meant to say will flex before it shears, not flexes MORE...... but maybe even thats wrong. o well. thanx for the tips.

on my bumper i made the brackets out oh 1/2. and used TC bolts lol

Hell yeah, 1/2" is that way to go I was gonna recomend that but I figured somebody would start saying it was overkill. Overkill on wheeling rig? Not possible.

Its nice to have overkill, but when the frame horns are weak it doesnt matter how over kill you go.

1/4" is plenty.
