Default First Post Need Advice on Exhaust

Hi all,
This is my first post here on dodge forum. I think that I may like to upgrade my exhaust. I like my toys big loud and powerful. What suggestions do you have to make my '98 5.9L very deep and very loud?

Thanks,
Pieromj3

haha.. other than straight pipe what do you think?

Are any of the cat back kits good? or is it just as good to get my mechanic to weld in some flowmasters and bend me some pipes?

any other mufflers produce a loud deep tone besides flowmaster?

if your going for LOUD i'd get a 10 series flowmaster with a downpipe..if your going to a street legal/not getting bitched at all the time kind of loud i'd go with a 40 series flowmaster.. i always think downpipes sound much better and louder then pipes that go all the way out the back..

I've got the 5.9, and I just got exhaust for my truck a few months ago. I have 2 1/4" down to a high flow cat, then a 3', 3 1/2" pipe from the cat to a y-pipe that forks into duals out the back with 3" stainless tips. It sounds nice and mean, but it still has a little bit of a cackle when i get on the gas alot, I haven't encountered a RAM that didn't have that cackle.
