So far the longest an OEM battery has lasted me was 8 years (1995-2003) before I replaced it. The battery was still cranking good, but with winter coming, I got nervous and replaced it. Sold that truck with the new battery a year later in 2004 when I bought the dually.

This summer, the negative cable clamp was so thin and corroded that I couldn't tighten it. Replaced the clamp and battery at the same time. My bet is that the battery is still good ... so 8+ years. I may just swap it back in to test that theory.

I've had factory batteries go out on me in 2 1/2 years. Others have lasted over 5 years. My SRT-4 generates a BUNCH of heat thanks to the turbo, and combined with the Texas summers here, I'm asking Santa for a Die Hard Gold after 3 years on the factory model.
