Wall of Fame:

Pro-fit mufflers [(Local)Valdosta, GA]- Great guy, excellent customer service, very reasonable prices!!

O'Riely's (Local)-Great customer service, you can tell the people who work there actually work on their own vehicles.

Wall of Shame:

Wal-mart-............
Prince Mazda (Local)- Carried my RX8 to them cause it wouldn't start, the change the plugs in it and charge me $380, didn't ask if I wanted them to replace them, just did it. Could've got the plugs myself for $150 and replaced them in about 30 min. Later took my car back up there for a transmission issue, they kept it for a WEEK, then told me they couldn't find anything wrong with it and gave it back with no gas in it!!! It had between 1/4 and 1/2 when i dropped it off.[:'(]

Those are basically the ones I can think of right now. I can't think of many shame ones other than local places.

Wall of Fame:
O'Reilly's: Great customer service, better than Checkers, Autozone, or Advance Auto. Friendly and local. Only thing I could complain about at all with them is the one here isn't very big, so not a very large selection of in-store stuff.
Meineke: My local one has great customer service, decent prices for a chain shop, and they know what they are talking about.

Wall of Shame:
Wal-Mart: An equation from my father-in-law... walmart + oil drain plug + air tool = two tired, angry people + new oil drain plug. Need I say more?

I also have to say Walmart is about the worst.. They can't tell the difference between a small exhaust leak and the engine knocking.. and they messed upon my buddies car by putting tranny fluid in instead of oil.. talk about morons.. Oh well.. I used to work at Faslube(a quick change place) hated that job, but I always change my own oil, just got so used to doing it, I can do it pretty quick on almost any car... The ones that got me when I worked there, this was in the late 80's, where the old ladies driving the caddies, going shopping all day, then sliding in for the oil change, with the motor all hot, and the filter sat right behind the exhaust pipe, burn the pi$$ outta your arm getting that one off... haha..

Wal-Mart? I will never get my truck or car worked on @ the same place I could buy my socks or checkout the latest fashion designs by Hannah Montana. This one gets a shame without me having to have a horror story about them.

PS: 7 month thread bump.

yeah, I like diggin through old threads and renewing them... especially when it comes to threads like this one...

Beinga mod on another forum, and member of various others, it's nice to bring this stuff back up, someone might benefit from teh knowledge if it shows up with a new post, otherwise, they tend to ignore old posts..

guess I should add this.

So I bought my 14X3 round air intake from a site called SFXperformance.com about 9 days ago, and when I ordered it I chose to get the expedited shipping, 3-4 day shipping. Well even now the product still has not come, even though every day I have said...well, maybe it just didnt get through today...but finally today I reached the end of my line and called the company, I got through, and whoever the a**hole is who took my call mumbled his way through the whole thing, was very hard to understand, and even tried to put off my questions when it came to money back and everything. I was about to ask if I could at least get my money back for the shipping and the guy told me he would call me back before I could even ask about it and hung up...

Now what he said happened was the the order was processed, the product was brought out, and then suddenly my order was just shoved off to the side and ignored is what I got out of it. And from what I can tell is that they took that same product that was in stock when I ordered it and then sold it to someone else so now they dont have any of it in stock and have to call the manufacturer to get it sent to me. Unbelieveable right? and when I asked about getting it sent straight from the manufacturer on their dime to make up for their screw-up and get it here as soon as possible, they said that that was not possible and that they would have to bring it to their store before they could send it. So I thought I would just say screw them, get them to return my money and get it somewhere else.

Wow that does suck. And yeah as far as Wallmart goes, I wouldn't bring a $100 POS there. My friend worked there, and one of the guys there left nuts and screws in the engine compartment, and they fell off when started, hit the fan and went though the radiator. I know mistakes happen, but its just funny that every one has a horror story about Wallmart. Summit Racing is a great place to buy parts from. They have a lot of good stuff.

lol I used to work for the evil smiley face corporation. I worked there fro three years. I do know that in December of 2007 the corporation decided that all new wlamarts were not going to have a TLE (tire lube express) They are actually losing money on their TLEs.
I mean its no wonder why they have so much problems with the tles... Does anyone know how you get trained to work in that department???

You learn from a computer interactive slideshow that walks you through how to do it. Are you expected to get 100% on the final questions? No, a minumum of 70% is all that is required to pass it.

While I was working at my store it was nothing to see the same vehicle in the shop two or even three times in a day because the associtates kept leaving stuff off of the vehicles...
I know that while i was there we had cases of : No oil filter installed, untorqued lug nuts, uninstalled drain plug, no oil fill up, unproper tire pressure amounts, unlatched hoods, and my personal favorite forget to even put lug nuts back on a wheel after a new tire install. The bad part is the customer didnt catch the last error and drove off with it like that.

So for the most part all new wlamarts that are being built dont have a tle. There are some special cases where they go ahead and put new ones in, but it is rare.

BTW for SHAME: CENTRAL DODGE Springfield Missouri. They cant even tell you where the ambient temperature gauge mounts or where it plugs in at. Horrible customer service

Default Shame on Tanner 4x4

Puddle of Shame winner is Tanner 4x4 in C. Springs, CO. They have lied, cheated, and gone back on their word. They will overcharge you, install used parts when you payed for new parts, sabotage for more work, and their knowledge of our trucks is discouraging. DO NOT do work with Tanner 4x4!
