Default 1997 dodge ram brake upgrade

I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 4X4. Would twin piston front calipers OR converting the rear to single piston disc brakes benefit me more? Both are about the same price. Thanks in advance!

How bout doing the cheap upgrades of changing out the front calipers to the 2500 calipers they use a bigger bore piston, and then changing the rear cylinders to either the chevy 1ton cylinders or the dodge 3500 cylinders

yea ive read about that... is there really a noticeable difference? can i put the 8800 lb gvwr calipers on mine as a direct bolt on fit? are the wheel cylinders direct fit bolt on? which are better- chevy 1 tons or the mopar 3500 cylinders?

ok just realized the 1 ton chevy wheel cylinders are same as mopar 1 ton, but chevy has a 1 3/16" cylinder for the dually. will that fit my truck?

^^ The Chevy ¾-ton wheel cylinder mod is discussed many times on this forum. I did it and it improved braking tremendously. So much so that I can easily lock the rears. I tow a large 18' trailer from time to time and the wheel cylinders have made a difference.

I put Chevy 3500 dually wheel cylinders on my 95 ram 1500 and it helped a lot. You will have to relearn how to use your brakes at lest I did.

If you want to upgrade your calipers, upgrade it to the dual piston caliper off of a 01 ram (I think it's that year) You'd also have to take the knuckles of off it and swap those too.
