Truck won't start/no gauges
I searched first and read this entire thread https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...bag-light.html as it was the closest I could find to what I'm experiancing. I have a 2001 5.9L Ram 1500 4X4 Off Road Edition with 80K miles.
I went out this morning to make my weekly trash run and loaded up the truck. I have had some leak down issues with the fuel pump check valve so my normal procedure has been to turn the key to on and let the fuel pump pressurize the system then turn the key off. I repeat this two more times and on the third time engage the ignition and start the truck. If I don't do this the truck cranks for 5-10 seconds and then starts. Anyhow I did my normal routine and the truck starts but dies after a second or so. I try to start it two more times and it repeats the dying. Now it does nothing except turn over.
The battery is is fine and I've cleaned the connections. I've checked every fuse and relay and they are all okay.
I checked the fuel pressure at the rail and I have 49 psi, slightly less when the engine cranks.
I pulled a plug and cranked the motor and the spark looks strong. The cap and rotor have less than 3000 miles on them.
I checked for codes at the OBDII connection and there are none.
When I turn the key to the on position the indicator lights do a self test but the gauges don't display anything. The odometer reading flashes 4 times and reads "no bus" and the ABS and Airbag lights come on.
I did the cluster test and it gave me the following codes 900, 920, 921, 940, 950 and 999. It went through the rest of the cluster test and everything appeared for self check properly.
I checked the connection in the under hood fuse block and it appears to be clean and free from corrosion.
The last time I operated the truck it threw a check engine code for one of the O2 sensors. I cleared the code and it didn't come back.
I've not had any other problems I can recall although I had to get the tranny rebuilt last year. I've put less than 2500 miles on the truck since the tranny rebuild.
I'm guessing maybe the PCM. Does PCM mean program control modual or power control modual and is it the same as an ECM?
Any help would be awsome.
Anyone intrested in taking this thing off my hands can IM me.

It's Power Control Module. And a no bus most likely means it's bad. You could however, disconnect the neg battery cable and remove the connectors from the PCM and clean them and see if anything changes. As far as taking it off your hands, what kind of shape is it in and where do you live? LOL
Pulled the 3 plugs and nothing appears corroded. Still won't start. The pic is three years old. The paint on the hood and roof has faded badly. No dents some minor dings and paint scratching. It has the tow package with a 7 blade connector. The Transmission was rebuilt by Hughs Performance out of AZ and has heavy duty clutchs, a shift kit, a deep sump pan with drain plug and less than 2500 miles since rebuild. I did the Huges Plenum upgrade shortly after purchase in 2007. The interior is light gray with no rips or tears. The dash is not cracked anywhere. It has elec windows. elec door locks, criuse, original cd player with equilizer and the overhead console/computer with panic alarm. It has different tires (then in the photo) that need replacement and a factory bed liner.

Do NOT use ACE. They have a horrid reputation.
Swap out the ASD relay, with another one. (wiper, headlight, whathaveyou) See if that helps. (ASD is Auto Shutdown Relay)
The codes you were getting were cluster codes, it is whining about not getting any info from the PCM.
If there is a junk yard near by, see if they have a PCM for your year truck, and engine/trans combo. See if that helps any.
If you want to do some more diagnoses, look for Posts by cmckenna, he is the resident expert on ASD events. (which is what your sounds like.)

I realize the codes are for the cluster. I did the cluster check diagnostic and the cluster checks okay.
Hey there what's up sounds like my truck and I see you went through my thread. Hope you get some benefits!!! I ended up getting my PCM repaired through ACE and didn't have a problem. They called me a couple of times emailed me and kept me in the loop. I know there have been people on here that have had problems but I can only go from my personal experience with them. Rudy was the tech I delt with maybe I got lucky dunno!! Anyway before you ship it off to them I would go through my thread carefully and see if you can avoid sending it to them. The main thing I would check first is your connections. I would buy a can of contact cleaner and make sure your electrical connections are clean as well as tight. Check the three on the PCM, the main connector on the PDC ( Power Distribution Center - Under hood drivers side ) and the main one I think helped the most was in the cab drivers side. There are a couple of connectors under the instrument panel just behind the emergency brake. Ensure they are all clean and tight!! My baby is back and running strong any thing I can do to help just ask!! Good Luck
