Default No power gain and tranny issues after plenum

Finally got around to changing out my plenum pan and gasket. Along with that 180 degree thermostat, plugs, wires, distributor and cap, coolant temp sensor. The engine idles better but no more reaction from the pedal then i had before. It feels like a dog so i went and test drove a stock one from the lot and it kills mine with power. The plenum was blown so i figured i would have seen an improvement, what gives?
Also right after I did all of this my tranny shifts completely different then before. Now it has to sit at high rpms to shift, even at cruising speeds(dont know how to explain it) its got me worried. So how does any of the stuff i did affect the tranny? Is it a computer problem?
Here are some pics

your computer will have to adjust.. takes a little bit.. did you reset it?

You need to adjust your throttle position cable.. you likely knocked it out of adjustment when you were moving everything around under there..

the shift change is probably something to do with the TV cable. its on the side of the throttle body and it the one that goes to the rear, to the trans. check that its seated properly and in the exact same position that it used to be.

there's a DIY for the adjustment.. but the idea is you want the cable to be in a DIRECT line from where it comes into the bracket and with the pin it clips to.. You want it adjusted, basically, that it starts to move as soon as the throttle starts to move..

disconnect the battery and wait about five minutes or so.. reconnect it and your PCM will reset back to the base tables for trim and such.. It will relearn your adjustments much sooner than if you just wait it out.. like the difference between 20 miles and 200 miles..

To reset the computer, simply disconnect the battery for a few minutes. (which you probably did when you were working on it, as you had to pull the alt.... having live power for that exercise could be potentially VERY exciting.)

Easiest if you have a friend that will loan you a finger..... Have said friend lay under the truck, and observe the lever that TV cable operates, have friend hold lever is "idle" position. Meanwhile, back at the throttle body.... You pull the TV cable so there is not slop/stretch in the cable, and then adjust it so the center if the little feller that hooks to the TB, is directly centered on the little lug it connects to. (yes, do this with the cable disconnect at TB end.) Once it is set correctly, just put it on, take the truck for a drive, and see if it worked.

+2 for the Bosch plugs though. A set of Champions or NGK V-powers will last longer and help your truck run even better.

^Or you could disconnect the battery right before you go to bed for an assured reset and plug it up in the morning.
