oreilys checked my truck with a code reader
and said It wasnt establishing a link, I said ok and jumped in my truck only to find out that the oreilys employee hadnt turned the key forward all the way. popped an evap system code p0441. please help me fix this bad boy.
Ah yes, the great p0441. Haven't had it on my truck but on other vehicles. I wouldn't worry right off the bat because it's likely minor. Start off by making sure your gas cap is tight, check for vacuum hose leaks. It helps to listen in the engine bay while running to detect any sucking sounds. Can also use a spray bottle to try and detect bubbles. Check the canister and lines for damage. Then finally check the solenoid. For the car I was working on it turned out to be the EVAP vent valve, but I'm not sure our trucks have that. Took me months to track it down. Good luck. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

some lady sued them in small claims court (and won cause this is america after all) saying that they cleared the codes out and her car broke down.
now they just hand it to you and tell you to follow the prompts!
Well sure it can, but just because it was the problem on my car doesn't make it more likely it's the problem on your truck. That code covers a lot of components. You could have a cracked canister, a piece of charcoal jamming your solenoid, a broken purge valve, hose leak etc etc. Start simple and move on from there.
I'm asking if it can be replaced for a reason, reason being I have a melted piece of hose end that looks to be a valve of some sort, and is attached to the canister. Easier said than done ( checking the system) with multiple disk herniations.

Well if you see something melted, then there is a problem. Take a pic and post it. I know back problems suck, but we can't see what the problem is with your truck. Besides, if I can do it with one leg, I'm sure you can. LOL
