Default ABS and Brake light come on

I have a 99 Diesel 2500. The ABS light and Brake light come on occasionally, they always come on together, and not necessarily when braking. I stopped at a local tire shop to have the brakes checked and they said the brakes were good. Has anyone experienced a similar thing?

If you only have RWAL, probably the speed sensor in the rear diff. Check the connections first, if that all looks good, replace the sensor.

Is your speedometer doing anything odd?

Make sure you check all the wiring for the sensors too. All the way to the front.

No, the speedometer seems ok....I'm not sure what RWAL stands for.

Rear Wheel Anti-lock brakes. Some models came with 4 Wheel anti-lock and some with rear wheel.

My ABS & brake lights come on when I'm in stop and go traffic. I've switched out the speed sensor with no results. Eventually, I just learned to live with it.
On a side note, ALL rams came with RWAL brakes and SOME with front wheel ABS.

After you did the replacing and bleeding, did you reset PCM?

I don't think resetting the PCM will clear ABS codes. (at least, it wouldn't on a gm vehicle....)

Do you have four wheel anti-lock by any chance?
