lowering shackles will be here on the 23rd
Start wd40ing the bolts now
I have head they are a PITA!
This is the approach I would take, but it levels out when I hook the trailer on. So that leaves me with the either not doing it and buy other mods, or buy shackles and bags.
And guess what... I like other mods for the truck

I dont tow and rarely haul, so I'm good. If I ever get a trailer, I'll either put the stck ones back on or buy a set of air shocks...oh wait, what am I thinking....i doubt anyone makes air shocks for Daks....lol

my bolts look clean and new,...
The driveshaft is suppose to look that way, its called weathering steel... you are actually seeing patina. Its a rust coating that protects. They use the weathering steel on bridges, guide railing, etc. Its kinda cool stuff.
thats funny the underside of mine looks like it just rolled off the showroom. ofcourse I wash it alot with the pressure washer. i think i'm going to paint my drive shaft. its starting to get that patina.
Pitted? Really... thats not right. Are you sure its pitting?
I do the same. It can be a bitch to get the paint to stick, just going off of my knowledge of bridge projects we have done. They don't paint them at all.
