Default lowering shackles will be here on the 23rd

any tips for installation, or removal of the originals. i know i need a 55mm torx which i already have, but is there any kind of weird tricks or anything. ive never lowered a truck before so this is a learning experience. but i feel like i can do anything.

When I have done them I raise the back of the truck up and put jack stands under the frame. Then I used a floor jack under the axle so that I could drop it down enough to take the tension of of the suspension and still be able to move it up and down to get everything to line up! Also chock the front wheels so it doesn't try to roll forward. Haven't been under the dakota much, might want to drop the spare tire to give you a little more working room.

yes, exactly. im trying to go for a lower wider more agressive stance. i never haul much and i drive mostly interstate and major highway. so i think this would be better (and cheaper) then lifting the front.

Installing them is really easy. lift the rear, support the axle, remove the leaf retaining bolt, and unbolt the old ones. They are a direct swap and I'm very pleased with mine. Good luck.

I found some 2" lowering shackles from Suspension Max for $48. Will 2" level it out?
