we were out target shooting with a 7.62 x 54, at one point we here this loud >thunk< behind us, right after i fired a shot, a few hours later i find this in my hood of the ram.....

I learned a long time ago that bullets don't ricochet off of paper targets...

 

I still have a pair of Bolle sunglasses that caught a ricochet off a 22 round. hit the edge or the frame, the lens, and then my cheek. I also recovered the round and still have it and keep it as a reminder that if your not sure about a posibility of a ricochet, be very careful...

 

Isn't the 7.62x54 the Mosin Nagant round?

 

Yes, that it is! I got one here and it is a very nice gun.

 

Was about to mention the Mosin. I too own one, love it.
