Default engine failure!!!

luckly not the dak, one of my customers 04 cummins, this is what happens when you dont do maintence....

not sure of the excact cause of this, but some problems the owner had.... green stuff air filter, not mantained with signs of dirt in the intake, banks 6 gun and no egt gauge, and nasty, NASTY engine oil, #1 and #6 both had ring failures, #1 broke top and 2nd rings and most of them were gone, #6 broke the top ring and some how, pieces of it made it up on top of the piston and beat the heck out of the piston and head, #2,3,4,5 all look perfect....

It amazes me the things people do. Someone I work with asked me to see was was wrong with their truck. They told me they would just turn their stereo up loud enough to drown it out and try to ignore it. I tell them to start it up and I hear the worse case of "rod knock" I've ever heard. People truly amaze me.

I've seen some of this too. Back when I worked at a Ford dealer, had a minivan come in with only 18000 miles. Blown engine, owner admitted oil had never been changed.

My boss has let my '08 4500 cummins 6.7 go 18k without a change once and then again 15k... What are Daily Driver Inspection Reports for anyways? 83k and only 6 oil changes...

Leaking exhaust manifold and that's it. Tough truck I guess.
