The 4.3L is equivalent to the 3.7L in popularity. Been around for awhile and proven for endurance and reliabilty. Or am I completely off?

Well I don't know if I'd say it's equivalent yet. GM's 4.3l V6 has been around since 1985, the 3.7l was introduced in 2002. The 4.3 also makes peak torque lower in the RPM range, which isn't surprising given the displacement difference. For the 93 Sierra I had it made 235 lb-ft @2000 RPM, the 3.7l makes 235 lb-ft @4000 RPM. So far as I know both are great engines but I can only speak from experience on the 4.3.

I had a 4.3 in a Chevy Caprice (huge car) and in a S-15 Jimmy. That engine had gobs of low end.

How about Ford's new 3.7L in the new Mustang rated at 305hp? With the new supercharger kit at 8psi it's putting down 427 to the wheels.

Look up the 2010 GT vs the 2011 V6. The GT just BARELY loses in each drag.. if I remember right.. it usually pulled neck and neck in the low range before the V8 in the GT takes over.

I wonder how that I5 is doing in the Colorado/Canyon. Seems to have some good numbers, but I haven't looked up its true performance.

Who would waste time in a I5 colorado engine...a ls series is a direct bolt on in these truck... you just need gto solid engine mounts or new colorado engine mounts. you can keep the rad...diff transmission etc...

maybe just a bellhousing and a conversion for gas pedal.

I had a convertible 2011 Mustang with the 6 as rental in Florida and I was very impressed with it! It was fun to drive and wasn't a slouch.

A Hertz edition mustang? Or regular? Funny how Hertz was able to get Ford to make specific models just for them.. black with gold racing stripes doesn't look too bad.

Yea I did some checking, the lastest Hertz model looks like the Corvette ZHZ. No new mustang yet.
