Default 3rd Gen Weapons Thread

What kind of weapons do us 3rd gen'rs own. Knifes, guns, bazzokas, 2x4s with a nail, ect ect.

I'm a knife guy, I've always loved them but have never owned a high quality one untill today when the ups guy showed up bearing gifts.

Spyderco paramilitary 2, hands down the best blade I've ever owned.

Also have a custom made folder coming from a local knife smith. It will look similar to this.

I am into guns myself. I usually take out all my friends and show them a good time. They are only required to help pay for the ammo.

Guns I own
- Colt 45 ACP
- M16
- M1 Carbine
- Mossberg 12 gauge
- Kimber 1911
- Smith & Wesson Model 76
- Dragunov sniper rifle (my pride and joy)

I like guns too, buy can't justify the cost and wouldn't feel right having them in the same house as my children even if they were in a safe.

Fps russia makes it look so fun

Is this thread open to 3rd Gen RAM owners too??? LOL...

I have been hunting since I was about old enough to carry a .22 in the woods. Pretty good assortment of rifles, shotguns and a few handguns. Not really into the "assault weapon" craze, but I do have a couple. Big RUGER guy here. I have a Redhawk in .44 Mag flavor and still have my first handgun, an old Ruger Security Six.

A couple of Mini-14s, one setup for personal protection, the other for varminting. I find the .223 does well on nuisance coyotes up around the farm in south Ga. My hog gun is a Ruger Mini-30, as I hunt in pretty thick woody areas around the northern sections of the Okefenokee swamp. The 7.62x39 does well in the brushy area where shots over about 40 yards are rare.

I do a lot of wing shooting, although I miss the pheasant hunts from when I was a kid in upstate NY, ain't got them in south Ga., but I'm forever out in the fields during dove season and usually get out at least a half dozen times or so during duck season. Used to shoot a lot of Trap/Skeet, but don't get the chance much anymore. Got vintage early '70s Rem 1100 and 870 Wingmaster that were "hand-me-downs" from my father, although they are in about mint condition so I rarely carry them out anymore. I use my "beaters" mostly in the field, a trusty old Mossberg 500 and my most recent gun, a turkish made Hatsan .12 gauge semi-auto, a cheap gun at about $250 NIB, but with about 2500 rounds thru it in the four years I've had it, it has yet to FTF and has about half the kick as my 1100.

I competed in black powder events when I was a teenager and still have the .50 Hawken and .32 Lancaster guns I built when I was about 17. Have killed more than a few deer with that Hawken over the years, but last few years ain't got out much and when I did, was with the Ruger 77 in .30-06 flavor.

I do keep an AK in the truck most of the time, it's my only folding stock gun and my .17 or Ruger 10/22 will usually stay in the truck. Since we clear the occasional stray gator that comes into our 4.5 acre pond at the farm out as soon as we see one, we are absolutely over-run with turtles and it's not uncommon to see at least 100 heads sticking out of the water at any given time. The .17 & the .22 will usually thin a few out when I'm there.

I like the Big Sky line of vehicle gun racks, keeps a couple guns handy and well within reach from the driver's seat, yet unless someone presses their eyes up against the window and looks straight up, nobody can see that I have a couple of guns in the truck...

im both a knife man and a gun man.
Me and my dad make our own knives(and the sheaths) . we buy Finnish blades and then buy all kinds of wood and bone varying from ur common oak to cocobolo and reindeer antler. and make the handles. my dad is a doc so he cc's a walther pk380 which replaced his bursa thunder .380(what a horror story). I keep a .357 Mag Tarus Protector Series in the truck when im traveling. A lot of people are not fond of their fire arms but their wheel guns are superb. I also have a SKS for pest control on the land about 24 acres. Ive got my first USPSA match this weekend im going to borrow my buddies sig 228 so if i decide to get into it full tilt i might buy a fullsize. has anyone shot or owned a XM or XMD in 9mm or.40? anyways ill post some pics of the knives tmr. and some of the holsters we have made.

If you are talkin about a Springfield Armory XD or XDM, i have shot a xdm .40 S&W right next to a Glock, and my buddy who just purchased the glock, wished that he had not got the glock and got the XDM. The xdm was a loaner, it is a great gun. for the same price as an glock, the xdm has all of the bells and whistles a gun can get. it feels great in the hands, trigger is smooth, and i could actually hit the target with it.
