Superchips
hard = throw your head back when it shifts, hopefully barks the tires...
soft = cant tell it shifted.....

most shift kits, tuner add-ons, etc firm up the shifts, meaning they make the shifts harder. Hard shifting is good performance wise as the shifts are crisp and clean. No lagging. I prefer shifts....not sure what you mean but imo hard shifts are good.
The shifts in my G35 are barely noticeable even under hard acceleration. It is a very fast and smooth ride. That is what I am thinking of as opposed to experiencing a jolt with every shift as the revs drop in a noticeable way with each shift. I suspect I haven't correctly identified what you actually mean by a hard shift.
I am going to re-install my 87 tune. Lately it seems as if the truck won't drop into passing gear as I would like and i wonder if the tune has "slipped out." If that doen't improve things I may have to go back to Perf . . . sadly. But that will give me the opportunity to see whether mileage improves with the change to 91 fuel.

got the sig pic to work. Nice! You will not see any improvement in economy by using the 91 tune. At least for me it did not. The 87 tune with my shift schedule gives me the best overall performance. I tried the 91 performance, the tow and the economy. Smooth shifting in vehicles is usually the norm. and when done correctly is very efficient (your G35) and works well. Not so well in the Dakota. Some people who get into the performance side prefer hard shifting.
So I've been messing around with the trans tune today and I was wondering if there's any way to know what the exact trans settings are for the superchips tune? I started a custom tune and found that it starts from stock tune and you adjust everything from there? Ideally, I would prefer to have the superchips trans tune but with a first shift at like 17mph instead of 20-23.
The stock one shifts at 13ish which is just too early. Often shifts during corners and that's bad in the snow.

Well, the first column in the spreadsheet is the sc tune settings.....i thought....
