The superchips based one. I havent gotten into the Trans tuning yet, only because I have been satisfied with the way it shifts after the tune. It has nice low end torque most all the time. Its a beast with a trailer behind it.

No spark knock? I been contemplating going to the lower octane instead of the recommended 91... but I seem to be doing well with performance and mileage where I am at.

no, had no spark knock. I actually ran a couple tanks of 87 using tow tune. I never towed or hauled anything, so I dont know if you would get knock when straining the motor.

So, like I said in my earlier post..I really liked the 87 tune at highway speeds 50-75 mph. My truck feels like a whole new truck like you guys said..much more powerful feeling as if I am in a full size pickup. Around town though, I am not too big on the tune..I think it shifts too quick to 2nd or something (I just am not crazy about it). Now..I don't have the $40 add on yet but is my transmission shifting with the Superchips shift points? I know I saw it in the settings and I selected (Superchips). If so, can I use the Superchips shift points and just change the torque management with the transmission package or do I have to make my own custom shift points to simply edit torque management? Sorry if my questions lack sense..I am new to hand held tuners haha

no, you are running a modified shift schedule and I believe torque management also, the superchips tune. The sc 87 tune holds first gear longer than stock, but with the trans package you can make it hold as long as you want.

Hey Kent, I'm going to put in either 91 or 93 octane after this tank of 87..when is it okay to add the higher grade? I was thinking when I'm at about 1/8 of a tank, nearly on "E"..don't want to run the tow tune with regular in the tank..would get furious if I ever found damaged pistons/valves/cylinder walls

06 I think you would be fine doing what you are talking about with an 1/8 or less. Thats the route I took. SC has told me that the more you drive your truck with a tune the more it will perform and understand it, like 20-40 miles or something, thus better results. Kinda glad you are enjoying it. I felt the same way with the 87 tune. Felt like no low end...

I've done about 150 miles with the 87 tune..I just can't sacrifice low end torque like that, it is my favorite part of driving my truck haha. ^ I have the Hipotek Kent, it's still not the same brother haha going to run atleast 91 and try Tow and Performance tune Friday. Also need to fix my power steering leak this weekend!

Running tow tune with 93 octane since Friday..amazing throttle response! Really liking it. I will try out the performance tune at the end of the week

I switched to the tow tune too. It still holds first longer than I would want but that only matters when I'm creepin through my neighborhood at night... kinda hard to be inconspicuous. I also noticed a weird downshift issue at freeway speeds sometimes. I guess that's why it's the tow schedule.
