Amazing!! Quick question for you. What gauge pod is that? I am looking for a pillar pod. Is it a triple?

There is a thread on here about converting a full size Dodge triple for use in the Dakota and that is what I did.
It was a lot of work and a lot of time with the heat gun to remodel the top end.
I did cut the top a bit short so its just even with the headliner. Would have been much better if it was a bit longer and tucked up under the headliner to hold the top in place.
Just did a tow down to Portland this weekend and found a great diesel shop in Monroe Wa who can build me some larger injectors so I will be back to get a power boost.

Oh man, that was 6 months ago. I have a hard time remembering yesterday!
7 weeks of campgrounds and they all start to blur.
I think we pulled off the highway at a giant elephant and the campground had a Giant mouse eating a chunk of cheese up a pole. ???
Had a great tour of the SPAM museum.

In my own opinion, I like the looks with the scoops. But if it were me doin it, Id make them functional (cut some holes in your hood)

How is that beauty doin?

I would agree that they should be functional. That was mostly why I wanted them, to get some cold air to the intake and help cut my EGT's a bit. I'm thinking of making a fiberglass duct underneath that is molded to the shape of the hood to move the air over on top of the CAI.
Its been 18 months on the road including the epic coast to coast trip.
It tows much better now that it has larger injectors and more boost. I have more stuff to add this winter.
Sure would like to make it a dually like my 99 Dakota, maybe next winter.

Not much has changed on the truck the last few months (spending my time installing a VW TDI into our 2000 Jeep Cherokee).
Added water/meth injection to cool EGT's and did bigger injectors which made a big increase in power.
The best mod to date was one I did last Friday night and only took about an hr.
The truck has a HD SouthBend 5.9 Cummins clutch so pedal pressure is HUGE.
I had tried a vacuum assist two years ago but it packed it in after about 6 weeks and my left leg has been getting bigger ever since.
Then I went with a Southbend 2500/3500 master/slave setup which is a larger system then the stock Dakota and that helped quite a bit with pedal pressure. It even bolted in with no mods to the Dakota.

Last week I got thinking about the pedal setup and wondered if I could change the location of the pin that the master cylinder rod attaches to the pedal.
Moving the anchor point closer to the pivot point should make the effort to push the clutch less.
I pulled the clutch pedal and drilled a new hole about 5/8" up from the original. Forced a 7/16" bolt into the hole and welded the head to the pedal.
Installed the whole setup and I was truly shocked at how little effort it took to press the clutch pedal.
My wife can now drive the truck.
