Default Hey Guys

Don't laugh but I always wanted a backup camera but the dang things were so expensive since had to buy a new stereo for one. Well there was one at O'Reilly's for under $150 and since none of my other parts have arrived I just did it.

The thing is wireless and was a snap to install. I ran the mirror wires down the A-pillar easily. The transmitter is mounted up inside the rear fender.

Well, my first post to 3rd Gen so be gentle with me like my front struts LOL

I also want to thank all the many users here for sharing so much info. I'd a be lost without ya!

2"+1" level kit on the way
Class 3 hitch and ball
Front tow hooks
and on and on
pics soon. right now it's just a stock grey truck pretty undercover.

Thought: anyone want to trade their woodgrain center cover for my gray one?

I've seen those cheap Penske back up cameras at the auto parts store. Just never could figure out where to mount the screen. So this is a mirror assy? Or just mounts on existing mirror?

I bought a cheap camera on Ebay. License Plate mount (Great since it centered, and low to see the hitch)
I was working great, But the monitor fell off the windshield in the summer (double sided tape, and the heat made it come off)
did a rewire on the truck im still working on so its not working atm. I ran my wires for it and my Strobes inside the trucks frame rails, Taking care to make it so they dont get cut into where they come out of the rails.

Only cost like $50 total. haha

My Boss had a expensive wireless one that would flake out of his F150.

For a hitch try to find the OEM one, or there is one out there that Bolts onto the OEM Bar to match OEM looks. I just hate seeing Hidden Hitches and stuff on them, looks outa place haha.

Dang it! I got a black steering wheel cover with a thin strip of woodgrain look piping first thing. Very subtle and classy IMO.

Yes the new mirror clamps over the stock one and has a small screen that only lights up when triggered by wireless signal reverse lights module (or 12v switch if you like to tinker). I like it, works good. Some static since the antenna module is in the fender not clear line of sight but no biggie.

Yah I read about Valley Hitches and the like, ended up ordering a "Curt" add on hitch receiver for cheap (including s/h). I can't begin to tell you the stupidness of what some places charge to ship here. We are a part of the U.S.A. and get USPS, UPS and Fedex just fine thank you! Speaky the english, not so much haha

whoo hoo my +10hp truck bed stripes just got here!
MOPAR~!!!

aww yeah! I'd love it if there where lots of different woods to choose from. Imagine a spalted burl (sp?). I'd get blue stain to offset the gray interior or probably just stick with a nice deep rich wood stain color. Coffee bamboo? kinda' weird nevermind that one. stuck with corporate grey plastic for now. haha
