old hot rods would be exempt. Much like WI's lift laws. Supposed to be a 4" max total lift here starting in 98-ish. Trucks older than 98 would had been expemt from teh new laws. new ones would be enforced to the new laws.All cars & trucks today are required to have driver and pass airbags. Did they require older vehilces to be fitted with them that never had them? Nope. They just started with one year and went from there. There was things we used to be able to do building a conversion vehicle that we couldnt do anymore due to new FMVSS regs.
