Thanks scottscan which fuse did you tap into?

 

fuse 22 , this is the switchable power outlet fuse location, put the fuse in the location where it powers the power outlet only when the key is on. also use the center connecter so if the wire ever shorts it blows the fuserather thanburning up your truck.
