No, by actual setup I meant, like while you were doing the install.

(about like wiring up a system)

Well, what is the output on this fan?

I can't find it anywhere.

I don't really feel like spending 300 dollars on a fan, if I can get something like it for 150 or so.

I was just looking at the variable speed control at Flex-a-lite's web site. Does the variable speed control replace the control that comes with the #180 model fan or do you use both controlers together?

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...0002_312482_-1 link to jegs.com for the fan. yes the variable speed controlmodule replaces the thermostat that comes with the fan. the variable unit isbetter built and the wiring is heavier. the fan puts out 2500 cfm and only draws like 20 amps and runs pretty quiet.the way the fan is made with a shroud it covers 99% of the radiator , it is really worth the money.

Well I'm ordering my fan as soon as I finish typing this. From all the research I have done, I think it is a good investment. So far I did the airaid intake kit and gibson exhaust. I plan on doing the fan and gibson headers and thats it for performance parts. Just with the intake kit and exhaust I noticed good performance and a small increase in gas mileage. But gas mileage all depends on how you drive. Drive hard and mileage will suffer. With an electric fan it only comes on when needed and the mechanical fan is on all the time putting drag on the motor. The clutch ingages in city driving and the fan free wheels in highway driving. So you should see an increase in horsepower with the electric fan.
