lug nuts too tight!
I was changing my front tire on my 06 dakota and I could not loosen the lug nuts! It is all stock 20k miles and they were so tight I bent the lug wrench.
Then I got out my impact wrench and I still couldn't get them off. My impact wrench is wimpy but still, I couldn't get the tire off to save my life.
How tight are they supposed to be? They came from the factory this way.

They should be no tighter than 80-85ft-lbs. I have had this problem in the past due to tires being installed using impact torque wrenches. When ever I get my car or truck back after someone else has installed the tires I always loosen all the lug nuts and re-torque using a manual torque wrench. Impact torque wrenches always over tighten the nuts.

I manage a large auto shop, I (as well as the company) require all tech use torque stickwhen reinstalling lug nuts then han torque all nuts by hand. Any time I have my truck worked on I require their tecs do the same. Over torquing lug nuts can warp the rotors as well as making it a PIA o change a flat on the side of the road.

Correct nut tightness is the following:
Steel Wheels 130-170 ft.lbs
Aluminum Wheels 120-160 ft Lbs.
Steel Wheels 130-170 ft.lbs
Aluminum Wheels 120-160 ft Lbs.
I just grab a somewhat short breaker bar and tighten em by feel, lol. Our torque wrench got broken a year or two ago and we always forget to buy a new one.
