no running lights are fine without resistors ...led's save power use by pulling very little current
the load resistors make it so your turns go at a normal rate ... the led's pull so little that the blinkers will "flash" at warp speed , the resistors pull the same load as the old bulbs ...
http://www.superbriteleds.com has some good prices and explanations

You do not need resistors for any lights that don't blink...license plate lights, backup lights, for example.

oh. no. not for plate lights.. sorry what kind of bulbs are they? Any 3157 bulb replaced with same size LED would need a leq. That would include brake and reverse..

Why would reverse need a load eq? I don't see how they could possibly stay on, there shouldn't be any voltage there unless you're actually in reverse.

Exactly. Specifically, for the Dakota's exterior lights...the backup and plate lights are the only ones that do not need the load resistors. Since the brake lights and rear turn signals are the same bulb, you do need load resistors here and for the front turn signals.

I'm installing mine on Saturday.

alright thanks guys. appreciate it...you think there would be much differance in interior lighting color/brightness to replace the lights on the roof of the cab that 1-come on when door is open, or 2-come on when you manually push them...
