Default Is it worth the money? (V6 Jet chip question)

Hey guys im new here and i just got my 07 dakota like a week ago, i have allready puchased and installed a 3" stainless Magnaflow cat back exhaust system and am ordering a K&N CAI. Now my question is do i order the jet stage 2 chip with it? I have the V6 engine and am wondering if it is worth the extra cash. Has anyone else here done this mod and have been happy with the results?

Welcome to the site.

I think that if you go with it, it'll make a difference in the V6,

Make sure to change out the tstat.

Napa... they should have something there... I'm pretty sure it's the same one as we use on the v8s...

I could be wrong, however...

Check with Jet Chips too. They might have one or be able to tell you whether the 4.7L will work with the 3.7L.

Check out www.summitracing.com Item# for the 180 t'stat for our 3.7 & 4.7 is #10177. Cheaper than from Jet Performance and a perfect fit with no reworking necessary.

Yeah you can find a cheap T-Stat from Napa but it won't come up on their computers as a Tstat for our trucks... you need to get the part # and then when you do go to install it you'll need to make a small notch in the Tstat with a Dremel...

well i would go with a stage one since you don't have that many mods and really no need for a stage 2 as of now...i mean i would get the TSTAT and then Headers and the intake on then go with stage 2 but for the time being since its wat? 2 weeks old...give it some time to atleast break the motor in before you start messin with the computer!

Well you Could do what 4X4 said but do you really want to spend the 200 or so on stage I just to turn around and spend another 200 or so to get the Stage II later... you should just get Stage II and only Stage II...but not nesecarily first...
