Default Winter tires

Okay guys its gettin to be that time a year... Right now I have those POS Eagles on my truck... I plan on buying winter Tires for this winter and probably thenext couple winters... and I plan on getting the General Grabber UHPs for the summer... so I have my summer tires picked out for next summer but right now I don't know what kind of tires I should get for winter...

Keep in mind I have 2wd... no 4X4:-(... so my truck dosen't move as well in the snow... so I need GOOD tires for the winter... not only for bein able to move but to reduce fish tailing as much as Possible... As it is right now when its wet out... I fish tail all over the place... especially when I accelerate...even if I'm not accelerating fast...

Well from all the looking I've done it seems the General Grabber AT2's have the same tread pattern and just as good traction as the BFG tako's for less money. And from experience takos are awesome in the snow so I'd take a look at the at2's

Firestone Destination AT's....

I'm seeing people putting them on more and more and more trucks every day....

I have them, and honestly, I love them!

I diddo Altair. If you look up the AT2's just about everyone gave them a rating of 10 in all types of weather. Not to mention, its just an awesome looking tire on our trucks so you can keep them on all year and save the summer tire money for another mod. I've got the 2wd as well and I am going with the 265/75/16's. Just my thoughts!!

Check out tirerack's tire survey results: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...speed_rating=Y

The Grabber's are actually rated above the TAKOs. Also if you read the reviews on the AT2 there are a lot of people saying they tried it after running the BFG's and it's just as good.

Well IDK about keeping them on all year... I want the winter tires for the winter...and I want sporty street tires for the summer... since I don't do any off roading...

Yeah if I ever stop spending money long enough to save up for 20's I'll keep my OEM's with all terrain tires on them for winter months and go with some nice street tires on the 20's for the summer.

IDK i just kinda keep the same tire on I do on my stock rims and i just take off my 20's before winter even comes....I never have any traction issues...but i also throw about 1,000 pounds in my bed every winter to weigh it down and give it some weight!

Wow! That seems like a lot of weight...a bit overkill. I usually use 200 lbs. of sandbags in my bed and that's plenty. I only have a 4x2, too, so I don't have the extra help of the 4x4.
