Window tint
Hey all
For those of you that have tinted your windows can you tell me how easy/difficult is was to match the to back windows that come already tinted from the dealer? I am going to do that in a week or two and wanted to get your inputs. In Texas, (I think) you can have any darkness you want other than the driver/passenger windows and they cannot be darker than 35%. For those that have tinted, did you just match the two from the factory or did you go darker? Any info would be appreciated.

RE: Window tint
You wouldn't want the fronts darker than the rears, that would look goofy...
If you don't add any tint to the rear, I would say go with 35%...
Tint USUALLY has a blueish color to it, and at 35% it's so little, it's very un-noticable...
20% you'd get into seeing it more...
Personally, I've had 35% on the fronts, when the rears were at the stock tint, and it matched rather well, from both the inside, and the outside...
I'd go with that, if I were you.

RE: Window tint
Yours looks alot darker than 35%, maybe cause its red. I was going to go alot darker in the rear (back two windows and back glass) and 35% on the fronts since I can't go any darker. I just keep looking at the rear glass and wish it would bedarker all around. So your saying the rear from factory is 35%, thats why it would match all the way around better?

Okay, well I figured you had to been darker than 35%. I am going by a place tomorrow and talk to them. They do the 3M film which I heard last a lot longer with our heat here. I think I will go darker in the rear, maybe around 20% and upfront 35%. Just curious, did you double tint the front to get that dark or do you "know" someone willing to do it for you. I thought Michigan was 35% as well. I've just always heard that double tinting makes it drag when you use the window thus making the film wear out quicker. Thanks for the info though!
