Stopped in at my dealers yesterday for the 'customer appreciation party/premiere event' and no '08 Daks in stock yet...no brochures, literature or anything. Anybody seen an '08 at their dealer yet or even test driven one. Had a chance to look at one of those Nitro SUV's though. They're pretty slick looking.

I was told here in Austin TX no one with have them until October, too many 07s on the lot...

 

that is true...not alot of people are buying dakotas....and I don't know why either...but the 07's i just hate those side view mirrors...I don't know why but they just look out of place on the dakotas....I know i said i hated those Dumbo Ears they have but after seeing an 07 i was like I like my dumbo ears!

 

The mirrors are all the same on all Gen IIIs either the standard 7" or the 9" that are optional and come with the Trailer towing package. I also dropped by the dealer for the CA eventand they only had a 08 Caravan there with the table in the back etc. I like the way the sliding door windows finally can be lowered down even though only 3/4 of the way. There is the dual glove compartment that is nice. The new dash is classy and it has the Nav. system. If I was into Mini Vans I would give it much consideration. There where eight Nitro’s all 07s and only one SLC the others where the striped STX units. None had the 250hp 4.0. The 08 Daksare due to arrive in October for sale but inventory will be moving in late September. No one can answer about the final hp for the 4.7. Some say it still 290 and others say 302. I would never buy on the first run. I'm waiting to see the 2010s with the diesel options.

 

I was looking for the 08 daks at mine last night too. Nothing yet, the sales manager told me they ordered some in July when they were first available for dealers to order so they expect them in September. He also said he was hoping the new looks would attract more people, sales haven't been as good on the dakota for them since the new bodystyle. After he saw mine he was joking they should put the level kits on all their dak's so they could sell them

 

Nothing round these parts either (Ohio).

Funny, you can always find ChryCo info on their fleet cars way before the websites are up to date! Unfotunately, no prices... not that I'm looking to upgrade (yet). I'm with graything, just saving for the diesel whenever it comes.

 

Looks like the new V-8 is 302 hp, though...according to the literature.

 

If you go to Dodge.com, they don't even have it on their website yet. I figured they're waiting for the end of the Fiscal year to put them out.

 

I was talking to the sales guy at my dealer about rumors of a cummins diesel for the Daks in 2010. He hadn't even heard of it but he thought it was possible.
