I drove the new dak in traverse city today... it was a yellow TRX quadcab. they wanted me to trade in my dak, but I wasnt that impressed with the new one. the ride is better, but where is the added power? my truck is faster to 60... and pulls a lot harder.
Didn't they add more weight to the new one? That might be offsetting the power, of course you have a few mods on yours. I still don't like the looks of the new ones anyways so mine's staying with me

Yeah, I dont know about weight, but it felt sluggish and it was the new 4.7 or whetever. V8 didnt feel any stronger than mine. I am not exactly against the new front, but I think they could have done better with the headlights. they look like it was a kind of last minute thing. "oh yeah, we have to make the headlights before we can sell it" kind of thing.
that and its the classic cheap dodge interior. atleast we arnt missing out on better interior build quality.

I think that's only a touch heavier than the current models, if at all. Wonder if something's still wrong with the new 4.7s...they should feel a lot more powerful than the current ones.
Wait... that is alot heavier isn't it... like 800 pounds heavier... right?? I dont' quite remember exactly what our trucks weigh.

lol... I googled the 2007 weight and w/e site I was on said that the 2007 quad cab SLTs weighed approx 3,900 something... IDK if thats the correct weight though...
I think my SLT 4x2 is something like 4300. Unless the construction of the new engine is dramatically heavier, they didn't change hardly anything else on the truck...the frame, most of the body panels, materials, etc., are all the same.
If you do a search, I know I posted here, probably about 6-10 months ago, with all the weights for the various combinations of 05-07 models....that'll give you something to compare to. I seem to remember the weights from 05-07 that I posted being pretty close to what they're saying the 08s weighing in at.

my 01' qd cab 4x4 slt v-8 was 4400lbs
my 06' qd cab 4x4 larime v-8 is 4900lbs
both include skid plates and heavier off road tires(the BFGs on my 06 weigh 10lbs more per tire than satandard tires (thats 50 extra lbs when including the spare lol))
