I've got a 2005 Dakota Ext cab 4x4 with 17" wheels. The current tire size is 265/65/R17 and BFG doesn't make the All Terrains in this size. The closest size is 265/70/17. Will this fit??? And also, what are my size options for this without putting a lift on??

well, I would, but I'm going to order whatever tires I get, so thats kinda hard for me to do. Unless you think I can just take it to a shop and have em fit test, but not buy??? Is that acceptable?

If you walk in with the intent NOT to buy, and play jkinda hard to get. Tell them you are just shopping around and looking into your options. and then say your not to sure what will fit and they will most likly offer to test fit. and after thy do just say your going to have to think about it and give it some thought.

I just put those tires(265 70 17) 0n my truck, but I have a level kit. I really don't think that the level kit helps to clear a bigger tire that much. I have seen the tires rub a tiny bit on the plastic inner fender well. one could easily remedy the situation, but it is so slight of a rub that I left it alone. The level kit raised me almost 2" and I when i look at the wheel in the fender i don'tthik it wouldrub any more if the kit was not in place. Sorry, noone is going to give you ayes or no.

I just ordered some bridgestone Revo's. I have had them before on other trucks and they are a nice tire. They are coming in the 265/65r17 size. For my winter tires I am using a 265/70r16 inplace of the stock 245/70/r16. A 265/70r16 will be about 32 inches tall, the 265/65r17 are 31.5 inches tall and the stock 245/70r16 are 29.5 inches tall.

I'm new to this forum but I do own an 05 Dakota quad cab, I have been researching tires for my truck we all know that the OEM 245/70R/16 eventually will have to be replaced, I went to Mickey Thompson's website and got the following cross references. My only concern is will the bigger tires fit on the truck without a lift kit? 245/70R17>31x9.5x17, 245/75/16>31x9.5x16, 265/75/16>31x10.5x16 also 31x11.5x15 will fit without any modifications. If you guys/gals have any experience with this I would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
