Well my buddy does charge me to do it...mainly because i do all of his dyno tuning runs on the weekends for free...

but normally dyno runs will cost about 75 dollars for 3 pulls (pulls=3 dyno runs to get the average HP/TQ rating)

then you have dyno tuning (which means they will tune your car based on dyno readings) and that runss about 124 dollars an hour

then to also get A/F ratio done as well its another 125 dollars so yeah it can be quite costly but for 75 bucks its not bad and you get it done say everyother modification...can be quite impressive to see how your power is going up!

I chose K&N b/c they have dyno charts on their intake...made me comfortable with my choice for the extra 9hp

well when you look at it...they say you gain what 9.73 Horsepower? granted that is pretty accurate but that again is a motor gain...not crank...not wheel but in the motor...so really when it comes down to it your probably get maybe 2-3 horsepower at the wheels difference! Mine Injen doesn't make a dyno statement because they don't have to it talks for itself...I have an extra 6 HP at the wheels which means i probably had 12 in the motor 9 at the crank. but thats just estimating drive train loss! the only thing that that injen needs is a bigger rubber piece for the air intake temperature sensor...but really all you need to do is take some electrical tape and wrap it around the black piece of hose!but yeah...I would recommend Injen to anyone...but really it comes down to what you want... go to www.stillen.com type in your truck stuff and go under performance...may look weird at first but click on it and then click on the camera ICON to see it installed on our trucks in either black or polished and they both look good!!!!!

yay finally getting close to that magical number of 230 that dodge told me it had when i bought it...yeah right...lol
All vehicle manufacturers use engine horsepower in their marketing materials, never wheel horsepower. No matter what you buy, you might as well dump 15% for a manual transmission, 20% for an automatic transmission, and 25%-30% if you're all wheel drive by the time you hit a dyno. You'll also get different dyno figures depending on whether you used a mustang dyno or dynojet because of the way they produce engine load - dynojets usually produce slightly higher #'s.

Ouch! There's a couple of shops around here that offer dyno pulls 3/$60 with the a/f metering.

I'm hoping to get my 408 dyno tuned here pretty soon, waiting for others to settle out their beta testing tunes with the new SCT software before I have it done.

Hmm...I don't think you really know too much regarding the K&N intake if your responding to the post about K&N. Cause if you did, then you would have noticed the base run came up with a hundred something hp for the 4.7L (which we all know the motor gain states 230 from dodge). So if they dyno'd it showing us a base and the new difference...I'd say that's respectable #'s w/o money outta my pocket for the dyno. Or you could just put in one with no manufacturer validation and dyno it yourself...but you could paid for guarantee...

Besides I highly doubt K&N would rip out an engine to get some #'s at the flywheel/flexplate just to boost advertising high hp when they have to test fit it in the truck anyways.
