Default Broken Headlights

I purchased a set of Silverstar bulbs for the headlights and turn signals. Upon removal of the headlamp, I un-screwed the three retaining bolts and the headlamp would not come out. Upon feeling like an idiot, I went to the owners manual. It states "remove 3 bolts, then tug to remove the headlamp from housing". Well, that metal ball that seats in the white clip didnt come out, it broke the surrounding material on the headlamp.

Has this happened to anyone?

Do the white clips come out when you pull them? Or does the ball seperate from the clip?

the ball joint is supposed to seperate from the white clip, but I too broke one of the white clips the first time I removed my headlights. It doesn't seem to have much of an effect on anything, but I am going to get a new white clip eventually

my silverstar bulbs didn't last two long, each one was blown within 10K miles.

Yeah, well instead of breaking the white clip, it broke the headlight. You don't suppose the warrenty would cover this do you?

This might sound like a stupid question, but, why do you pull your headlights out when you race?

Due to the location of the airbox, any additional cooler air (going down the track) would enter the on to/close to the air filter. This will also reduce under-hood temperatures as well.
