Default Vibration

Hello There,

Got a question that is starting to **** me off. My truck as of late gets this awful vibration from front to back while driving. Sometimes, when I put the brakes on, I get this same vibration. HOWEVER, it only lasts a minute or two, then goes away, for a of time. Sometimes, days other times hours. Speed is usually highway but it does happen on city driving. I do not think they are two seperate issues, as when the truck has that awful vibration, the brakes do it too. The vibration gets so fierce that things in holders rattle and make an exessive amount of noise.

Any thoughts and suggestions..... Starting to really annoy me.

HIHI

So, does anyone know if there was a recall or a TSB on this vibration issue. It happened again yesterday, and it was so violent I thought my truck was going to be ripped apart. Further, I just got out of my comprehensive warrenty, and only have the basic powertrain one. IF there is a TSB and this is the problem, will they pay for the repairs? (Canadian here)

This is the 05 rear brake TSB
https://dodgeforum.com/recalls-and-t...500405/TSB.htm
howeverI don't see oneon this site for the 06's. I too am feelinga vibration... brake shudder... what ever you want to call it, but mine's not a seriousas yours. From all I have read, some fixes were related to tires, wheels, rear brake assys, etc. Mine feels like the typical out-of-round rotors that show up at various braking speeds.Iorder front rotors and pads from brakeplanet to see if this fixes theproblem. If not, then I'll head to therear drums. Let us know what you find out so that other 06 owners can get more feedback on the 06"vibration" fixes.

I get a higher frequency vibration that shows up at 118-120 KMH. It feels almost like driveshaft imbalance, or bad u-joint to me.

I just ruled out tires. I just put on new ones, and I think the TSB was only for 8 1/4 axles. I have 9 1/4.

I'm a rookie at these DAKs but from my prior experience with other vehicles having rotor issues, the vibration generally is there only when braking and the shudder / vibration amplitudevaries depending on the amount of brake pressure and speed at which the brakes were applied. As for yoursymptoms, I'm thinking BanditSams comments are more than likely the issue (drive shaft, u-joint, etc). Anybody with more DAK experience, please chime in and help viper.

Yes, I need some more thoughts on this, before I got to the stealership, they spend an hour, can't reproduce the problem, charge me $100 and send me on my way. If it was driveshaft, or u-joint... Would that fall under drivetrain warrenty, or just the basic 60K comprehensive?
