new to this forum and thought i would pop in here with a topic. i have an 06 dakota 4.7 4dr 4wd. i am looking for a little more out of it, mostly for towing. it is the wifes DD, and my tow truck. i work on cars, build motors, and race for hobbies when i am not working 72hrs a week. i am new to the 4.7 and hemi powered morpar's, personally like 5.2 and 5.9 better but thats just me. it has done good for me so far, it gets 21mpg on the interstate and best of 26mpg with a couple cars in draft. when towing to the track, its quiet a bit less
stuff done on the truck:
cai
ported t/b
removed resonators
magnaflow weld in
spray in bed liner
bed rail caps
tail gate caps
nerf bars
vent visors
tinted windows
dodge tow package
brake controller

Welcome to DF man! The 318s and 360s are legacies that are hard to erase, but the 289s (4.7s) are a beast themselves. You'll grow to love them, I used to be a 5.2 fan until I seen and drove the 4.7.
It looks like you did most of the "simple" upgrades. The only thing I didnt see was a Chip. I have heard mixed reviews about em. Maybe some other members can chime in with there opinion on em. Other than that, gears, shift kits, pcm flashes, cams, internals, headers, different y-pipe, s/c or turbo and a nitrous kit are about the next steps up. Skies the limit
although, then you start killing your mpgs. Good luck man

find out what gear ratio you are running. there should be a sticker on the back of the glove box with this info, if not give the dealer the vin so they can check it out. if you have the 3.55 it will get great milage on the highway, but when it comes too towing it will be a dog. the 3.92 is a better set up. i went with the 4.10. kinda exspensive for the 4x4 but worth the money. really good in stop and go traffic and you dont lose much on the highway. plus i dont think you will be towing racecars at 80 mph anyway. for all the money you are gonna spend for making the truck better, this is a must have.
26mpg?
Was that a "im going to clear my overhead, and see what I get for the next 10 seconds" type thing?
