Lightbulb How is...

the exhaust setup, and the tb setup on your truck? When I changed out the exhaust system on my truck, I took note that I had 2 cats, 1 muffler and 1 rear resonator. I had heard from some that they had an extra res on theirs? Just curious how different each yr is. As for the TB I found out theres a difference among yrs dealing with the number of sensors. How many does yours have? This isnt a big topic, just curious how different some of the yrs are among the third gens and to inform ppl who dont know.

On my 08 TRX 4.7 there are 2 cats (one off either pipe coming from the manifold), a front resonator, a HUGE can, then another resonator over the rear axle. I'm thinking of cutting the muffler off and seeing how it sounds with just the 2 resonators.

On a side note, does anyone know what our exhaust systems are made of...aluminized steel, stainless, or what?

Thanks

my 05 4.7 had two cats before the y-pipe then it went into one resonator followed by the huge muffler then another resonator before the tailpipe. as for the tb, only 2 sensors.

2005, not sure on the TB but as for the exhaust, 2 cats (one on each bank) -> y pipe -> resonator -> muffler big enough to keep a dump truck quiet -> resonator -> exit.

Bolt, I am the same as you; My '07 has 2 cats, the big a$$ muffler and then 1 res over the axle.

The '06 I had prior to this had 2 cats, 2 res and one muffler. I am not sure why the '07's differ.
